This month, openthebox introduces several new features designed to enhance the way financial professionals discover, evaluate, and screen Belgian companies. From proprietary ratios to improved search filters and a fully redesigned help experience — here’s what’s new.
New Proprietary Ratios Now Available
We’ve added three exclusive, computed financial ratios to help analysts and deal teams make faster, more informed decisions:
- Net Financial Debt
- Net Working Capital
- EBITDA Margin
These are now calculated and displayed directly on company profiles and available in Advanced Search — enabling deeper analysis without manual effort or external calculations.

Filter Out Group-Owned Companies in Search

A new “Group-owned” exclusion label has been added to Advanced Search. This lets users filter out companies that are part of consolidated structures — a major improvement for anyone sourcing independent businesses.
Use this feature to:
- Focus on independent companies, startups, or scale-ups
- Avoid subsidiaries when targeting SMEs
- Streamline deal sourcing in private equity or corporate development workflows
This new layer of company intelligence is especially useful when evaluating opportunities across markets.
Clear References to Consolidated Financial Structures
Company profiles now highlight key consolidation links, making it easy to see whether a business operates independently or as part of a larger group. This helps users quickly understand ownership and control relationships for faster decision-making.

Introducing OBI: In-App Help Agent for Faster Support

You can now get help directly in the app with OBI (openthebox intelligence) — our new smart assistant.
With OBI, you can:
- Ask product questions at any time

Support tickets are created in-app and followed up by email as usual, keeping everything streamlined.
